Tutorial Two:
Black & White

Light Shots:

Photobucket
Location: My room
Technique: Shadow
Description: The light is shining from the left side. Paris has always been my dream country. I want the word 'PARIS' to be visible therefore i shone the light directly on it. The low angle would make the model look magnificent and thus enhances the aesthetics of the picture.

Photobucket
Location: My room
Technique: Silhouette & Lines
Description: I placed the light a little lower and adjusted the angle until the shadow get to the same size as the model. I think this make the picture special as the model itself has the silhouette effect and there is a shadow casted. It can be confusing but rather amazing as the Eiffel tower look like The Twin Towers in KL.

Decisive Moment:

Photobucket
Location: Singapore Changi Airport
Technique: Silhouette & Reflections
Description: I've always like to tour the airport because of the different feelings different people give me. Every expressions and behaviours of them are decisive moments.

Photobucket
Location: Singapore Changi Airport
Technique: Rule of Thirds
Description: This is perhaps the best moment before boarding the plane. Black & white would make viewer focus more on the subject rather than being distracted by the background.

Photobucket
Location: Singapore Polytechnic Pond
Technique: Rule of Thirds
Description: It takes alot of time to chance upon a dragonfly resting on a stalk of flower. I used digital macro to focus on the insect, which changes the focal length and the aperture effect is effectively demonstrated. With the blurred background, the dragonfly stands out more in the black & white picture.

Photobucket
Location: The Sail Condominium worksite @ Clarke Quay
Technique: Frame within a frame & Lines
Description: I took the picture while they are viewing the scenery from 69th storey. I happened to see a wire mesh and held it up to frame them in. The beam and column also gives the picture a frame. This is quite a special moment as it looks as though they are a couple talking about some serious stuff.

Tutorial One:
Extraordinary out of Ordinary.

Exterior Shots:

Location: Bukit Batok Community Centre
Day~
Photobucket
Technique: Vertical and Curve Lines.
Descriptions: I walk past this CC everyday and never took a close look at the curved exterior structure. What attracts me is the design which stands out from the surrounding HDB flats.

Night~
Photobucket
Technique: Vertical and Curve Lines.
Descriptions: The orange and green are complimentary colors and it livens up the atmosphere in the dark area. The lights shining from the windows are what makes buildings look different at nights.

Interior Shots:

Location: My grandmother's room.

Day~
Photobucket
Technique: Circles and Curve Lines.
Descriptions: The wheels are in circles and I think circular shapes are fun to play with. The reflection on the floor tiles makes the photo look a little more artistic. The wheels are in full circles while the reflections are arches.

Night~
Photobucket
Techniques: Silhouette & Shadow.
Descriptions: The only light source comes from the living room's altar through the door. The absense of flash produces a silhouette effect on the wheelchair and the dim light cast a shadow on the floor tiles. The contrasting black and red colors enhances the whole asethetic.

Self-Portraits:

Photobucket
Location: Central SOHO Worksite @ Clarke Quay
Technique: Horizontal and Vertical Lines & Thirds Rule.
Descriptions: My first worksite during ITP. First assignment was to take measurements for the bence I'm sitting on. It's a feeling of satisfaction upon completion of work and a boost to my confidence of being a Quantity Surveyor.

Photobucket
Location: Toilet @ AMK Hub
Technique: Frame within a frame.
Descriptions: WAHAHA. I love to be playful and this is just yet another one. I had red nail polish for the first time that day and I was really red top to toe, making me look vibrant and lively all day! =)
